Acting Executive Director of Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises of Armenia Appointed
YEREVAN, June 2. /ARKA/. Edita Ghazaryan has been appointed Acting Executive Director of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE), the company's press service reported.
Ghazaryan, who previously served as UATE Deputy Director, was appointed by a unanimous decision of the UATE Board.
"The UATE Board fully supports Ghazaryan and expresses confidence that under her leadership, the organization will ensure a natural and stable transition to a new stage of development," noted UATE President Armen Kocharyan.
He emphasized that in recent years, thanks to her direct involvement, UATE has significantly expanded its membership.
"Ghazaryan received a bachelor's degree in international relations from Yerevan State University and a master's degree in political science and international relations from the American University of Armenia," Kocharyan said.
Ghazaryan's predecessor, Sargis Karapetyan, joined the organization in 2023 and contributed to its further growth and expansion of influence.
The Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) is an association of technology companies in Armenia, the country's largest association of high-tech enterprises, and one of the oldest and largest business associations in Armenia. Founded in 2000, the organization currently unites approximately 300 technology companies.
Approximately 70% of the taxes paid by ICT companies included in the list of the top 1,000 taxpayers in Armenia are covered by UATE member companies.
UATE's strategic focus includes the development of the technology ecosystem, specifically policy development and advocacy for the industry, the promotion of Armenian companies internationally, the adoption and adaptation of technologies in the economy, as well as education and professional development.
UATE also organizes DigiTec, the largest annual technology event in Armenia and the region, and manages Armath, the national Armenian engineering education program.
