YEREVAN, June 2. /ARKA/. The first batch of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs has arrived at Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport: the Firebird AI megaproject is entering its practical phase. RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan wrote this on his Facebook page.

"Together with Firebird AI co-founder Alexander Yesayan, we visited Zvartnots Airport, where the first large batch of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs arrived at dawn today – 1,792 GPUs out of the planned 6,144 intended for the first phase of the Firebird AI megaproject," Hayrapetyan wrote.

According to him, the first phase of the project plans to launch a modern "AI factory" in Hrazdan with a capacity of approximately 18 MW, equipped with high-performance computing resources based on the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture. The data center will use a closed-loop water cooling system that is filled once and can be operated for several years, ensuring high energy efficiency and operational reliability.

"The investment volume for the first phase of the project is approximately $500 million. The second phase is expected to attract up to $4 billion in investment and commission approximately 42,000 more graphics processors, which will place Armenia among the top five countries in the world with the most powerful data centers for artificial intelligence," Hayrapetyan wrote.

He reported that after the launch of the first phase, the center will employ up to 100 highly qualified specialists, and more than 1,000 specialists will participate in the construction and expansion of the second phase, creating new high-paying jobs.

"An important component of the project is a $25 million strategic program signed between the Armenian government and Firebird AI. Under this program, the state will gain access to high-performance computing resources for artificial intelligence over five years to support Armenian startups, research groups, universities, and specialists, as well as to implement AI solutions in government agencies, technology companies, and high-tech research projects," Hayrapetyan wrote.
