GNC-Alfa extends its country-wide 10 gbt/s bandwidth ip/mpls network to 12 new towns
YEREVAN, March 31, /ARKA/. GNC-Alfa cjsc, a licensed network services operator in Armenia, announced today that its country-wide 10 Gbt/s bandwidth IP/MPLS network is now available also in 12 new towns of Armenia - Ararat, Vedi, Artashat, Armavir, Charentsavan Hrazdan, Sevan, Yeghegnadzor, Sisian, Goris, Kapan, Dilijan.
The company said in a press release that the network aggregation nodes, put into operation in the above-mentioned area., are based upon modern American equipment supplied by Juniper Networks which enables GNC-Alfa CJSC, to provide IP transit, Internet access, data communication, virtual private network (VPN) and other services to communication operators, internet service providers and corporate customers from these nodes.
The current complete list of regions and cities connected to GNC-Alfa CJSC network includes Yerevan, Kotayk (Abovyan, Nor Hachn, Charentsavan, Hrazdan), Ararat (Ararat, Masis, Vedi, Artashat), Vayots Dzor (Jermuk, Yeghegnadzor), Syunik (Kajaran, Agarak, Sisian, Goris, Kapan, Aragatsotn (Ashtarak, Aparan), Shirak (Gyumri), Lori (Spitak, Vanadzor, Stepanavan, Alaverdi, Tashir), Tavush (Bagratashen, Dilijan), Armavir(Armavir), Gegharkunik (Sevan).
Investments aimed at network expansion, construction and technical operations are in progress, and during the next 6 months 5 cities of 3 regions will also be connected to the GNC-Alfa CJSC network. These cities are Etchmiadzin, Ijevan, Noyemberyan, Gavar, Martuni. Implementation of this project will greatly contribute to the Internet penetration rate in the country, to the growth of access to information resources for population and organizations, as well as to the availability of modern network technologies services in RA provided by the company.
GNC-Alfa is a licensed network services operator in Armenia, based on Fiber-Optic Cable (FOC) infrastructure and designed to satisfy growing needs of fixed and mobile operators, Internet Service Providers and large enterprises in transport network services and high speed Internet. The Southern Segment of the network between Yerevan and Armenia-Iran border was put into operation in September 2009. In the South, the Network is interconnected with the FOC in Iran having access to the worldwide telecommunications networks. The two Northern Segments of the Network between Yerevan and Armenia-Georgia border are operational since March 2010 and interconnected with three FOC systems in Georgia through two independent routes. Construction of the Network extensions to the main towns of Armenia is in progress. -0-
