“Scientific Superintelligence": Nubar Afeyan's startup develops AI for experiments

YEREVAN, March 12. /ARKA/. Artificial Intelligence opens new horizons in science, accelerating discoveries and developments. By analyzing huge amounts of data, AI can create new drugs, improve agriculture and develop environmentally friendly materials in a matter of months instead of years.
According to The New York Times, Lila Sciences, a startup based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, recently announced its mission to revolutionize science. Led by experienced scientists and backed by investors who have invested $200 million, the company is developing AI that can independently conduct experiments in automated labs.
In practice, Lila's technology has already led to the creation of new antibodies to fight disease and materials for carbon capture. These discoveries, which would normally take years, have been realized in just a few months.
One of the startup's investors is Moderna co-founder and advocate of innovative approaches in science, Nubar Afeyan. -0-
