Firebird AI's AI factory has opened in the Armenian city of Hrazdan.
YEREVAN, August 8. /ARKA/. Firebird AI's AI factory has opened in the Armenian city of Hrazdan.
The opening ceremony was attended by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, NVIDIA Vice President Rev Lebaredyan, Firebird AI co-founder and CEO Alexander Yesayan, Kazakhstan Deputy Prime Minister Zhaslan Madiyev, US Chargé d'Affaires David Allen, representatives of the Armenian Ministry of High-Tech Industry, and other high-ranking guests.
"This is one of the world's largest infrastructure facilities in the field of artificial intelligence," wrote Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, former RA Minister of High-Tech Industry, who oversaw the creation of this AI center, on social media.
As NVIDIA announced in its blog, Firebird plans to deploy over 70,000 NVIDIA Rubin and Blackwell GPUs in Armenia by the end of 2027, increasing its AI infrastructure capacity to 300 MW.
Furthermore, Firebird announced NVIDIA's intention to invest in the company. Earlier this year, CoreWeave invested in Firebird. With NVIDIA's support, the company plans to create approximately 2 GW of AI infrastructure in Armenia, Kazakhstan, and other markets.
NVIDIA notes that the Armenian AI factory was built and commissioned in just over six months. Schneider Electric provides the power infrastructure for the Hrazdan facility, Vertiv provides the cooling system, and Dell PowerEdge servers power the computing power.
Perplexity was one of the first customers of Firebird's computing power, intending to use the center's infrastructure for its AI agent platform and search and response service.
About the AI Data Center Project
In June 2025, the Armenian government, NVIDIA, Firebird, and Team Group announced the launch of a project to create a supercomputer and data center based on artificial intelligence solutions.
Firebird is the owner of the data center, which has an infrastructure capacity of over 100 MW. Dell is the project partner, and NVIDIA is supplying high-performance Blackwell GPUs.
It was previously reported that the Firebird AI center's initial investment volume was $500 million. After the completion of the second phase, total investment could reach approximately $5 billion, and the number of additional NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs commissioned could reach approximately 42,000.
The new AI center will facilitate the development of artificial intelligence, bioscience, robotics, and space exploration technologies. The project is being implemented with the support of the governments of Armenia and the United States.
