ArmenTel begins digitization of pbx lines in Vedi
YEREVAN, May 14. /ARKA/. ArmenTel telecom said today it has begun digitization of PBX lines in the town of Vedi in Ararat province and two nearby villages of Goravan and Vanashen. The company said in a statement that the process is expected to be over in the first half of 2012 and make high-quality digital fixed-line services and broadband Internet accessible to the town and village residents.
"Digitalization of fixed telephone lines is an expensive process. It is the main priority of our company's technological development. We continue to work intensively on improving our infrastructure, making most advanced communications services available to our subscribers in Armenia", ArmenTel CEO, Igor Klimko, was quoted as saying.
As of May 2012 some 83 percent of fixed telephone subscribers across the country were connected to digital telephone stations.
ArmenTel is a subsidiary of Russian VimpelCom (trading as Beeline) providing fixed and mobile phone services and high-speed Internet access. -0-
