YEREVAN, April 17. /ARKA/. Armenian authorities have begun discussing measures to strengthen the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure, including the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA).

To this end, at the initiative of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, a discussion of specific steps was held with the participation of Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan and his deputy Ruben Simonyan, Acting Manager of ENA CJSC Romanos Petrosyan, Director of the Information Systems Agency of Armenia Nerses Yeritsyan, and other representatives of the aforementioned agencies.

Minister Hayrapetyan stated that the energy sector is vitally important and has a wide range of users. Therefore, given the potential risks, a decision was made to begin these processes with the ENA, viewing it as a model for implementing cybersecurity standards in other strategic sectors.

In this context, Petrosyan noted the need to develop internal capabilities, attract expert and technical support, and implement comprehensive programs aimed at protecting infrastructure.
