YEREVAN, April 18. /ARKA/. Armenia will be among the top five countries in the world by number of graphics processing units (GPUs), opening up significant opportunities for the development of artificial intelligence and technological infrastructure, said NVIDIA Vice President Rev Lebaredyan.

Speaking at the AI Conf Armenia 2026 conference with a report titled "AI Agent Systems and the Token Economy," he noted that Armenia's key resource is human intellectual capacity.

According to him, "the most important condition for Armenia's existence, development, and advancement is our natural resource—the human brain, which must be harnessed correctly." Lebaredyan emphasized that the country must rely on this potential to secure its place in the global economy.

"We are important to the world; we are not just a small country asking for help." "We must develop our intellectual resources to become part of the world," he said, adding that he believes in the capabilities of Armenian society, its hard work, and its values.

He also noted that joining forces will allow the country to significantly accelerate its development.

"Armenia is at the forefront of many developments: we will be among the top five countries in the world in terms of the number of GPUs—more than any major European country. We can leverage this advantage and be useful to the world," Lebaredyan said.

According to him, Armenia's geographical location, historically located at the crossroads of East and West, can become a competitive advantage.

"We can export knowledge and exchange it for the resources and capabilities we need from other countries," he added.

The AI Conf Armenia 2026 conference, taking place Saturday at Yerevan State University, is the country's largest event dedicated to artificial intelligence. It is being held for the fourth time, bringing together leading industry specialists, technology companies, researchers, and innovators.

This year's forum focuses on GPU scaling and the development of technological infrastructure as a driver of economic growth. Organized by Yerevan State University, Krisp, YerevaNN, and the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises, the event aims to stimulate the development of artificial intelligence in Armenia, showcase the latest technologies, and create new opportunities for professional collaboration. -0-
