YEREVAN, April 16. /ARКА/. At its session on Thursday, the National Assembly of Armenia adopted amendments to the law "On Public and Individual Notification via the Internet" and several related laws in their second and final reading.

As stated by Armenian Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan, the amendments provide for the abolition of the mandatory requirement to publish notifications and information arising from other types of official publications in the print media.

"This requirement will be replaced by the publication of information on the official public notification platform azdarar.am or on the website of the relevant organization. Specifically, a number of laws are currently in effect in Armenia that mandate the publication of various types of information in the press," Galyan said.

According to her, this requirement was relevant during the period when the print media remained the primary source of public information, and such regulations were aimed at ensuring access to information for the general public.

The Minister noted that in recent years, the development of information technology, the availability of digital platforms, and the ability to disseminate information through them indicate that publication in the print media has lost its relevance.

"Consequently, publication in the print media cannot currently be considered an effective or accessible format for disseminating information," Galyan said.-0-
