Ucom offers free Wi-Fi in Tsakhkadzor
TSAKHKADZOR, July 12. / ARKA /. Armenian Ucom company started providing free Wi-Fi in the resort town of Tsaghkadzor, company CEO, Hayk Yesayan, said during an informal meeting last Saturday with journalists and bloggers in this town. He said the free Wi-Fi service will be available in all public places of the town. In his words, the network can ensure a bandwidth up to 54 Mbps.
"At this moment 43 people are connected to Wi-Fi and the network is working properly," he added. Yesayan said Wi-Fi network is available also near the cable rope.
"Our goal is to encourage the spread and development of Internet in the regions", he said, adding that in the near future the company plans to offer a similar service in the third largest town of Vanadzor, the administrative center of Lori province.
Ucom (Universal Communications) was founded in 2007. With assistance from Ericsson, the company has established a broadband network that covers the capital of Armenia and several other towns. It provides Internet services, IP-TV and fixed telephony. -0-
