GNC-Alfa Puts into Operation Fiber-Optic Network in 17 Cities of Armenia
YEREVAN, July 19. /ARKA/. Wholesale Internet-provider GNC-Alfa finished the first phase of IP/MPLS construction of the network with the capacity of 10 GB/sec, press-service of Union of companies of IT technologies (UITE) informs.
Junctions of networks of the company equipped by super-modern American equipment of the company Juniper Networks were put into operation in Yerevan and 16 cities of eight regions of Armenia.
Today Yerevan, Kotayk (Abovyan, Nor Hachn), Ararat (Masis), Vayots Dzor (Jermuk), Syunik (Kajaran, Agarak), Shirak (Gyumri), Lori (Spitak, Vanadzor, Stepanavan, Alaverdi, Tashir), Tavush (Bagratashen) regions use the services of GNC-Alfa.
GNC-Alfa provides services of IP-transit, Internet access, data transfer and virtual private networks (VPN) from these centers to operators of electronic communications, companies of service provision and corporate clients.
The company is intended to continue implementation of investments, construction and technical works. It is planned to connect all regions of Armenia, particularly 29 cities to GNC-Alfa network.
Implementation of this program assists in the increase of level of Internet access in the country, information resources for organizations and population and access to new network technologies in Yerevan and regions.
GNC-Alfa was established in 2007. The main direction of its activity is construction and operation of highway telecommunication networks and provision of services of transport network. The company has built highway optic-fiber cable from Iran and two entries through Georgia.
Currently, three operators of wholesale Internet operate in Armenia – telecommunication company “ArmenTel” (brand Beeline), FiberNet Communications and from October 15, 2009 - GNC Alfa stared to operate.—0—
