Orange’s investments in Armenia total €250 million

Orange has invested €250 million in Armenia since it started operating here 2.5 years ago, Benua Shin, France Telecom-Orange Group’s Vice-president for European Markets, said Wednesday as he met with journalists in Yerevan.
YEREVAN, January 25. /ARKA/. Orange has invested €250 million in Armenia since it started operating here 2.5 years ago, Benua Shin, France Telecom-Orange Group’s Vice-president for European Markets, said Wednesday as he met with journalists in Yerevan.
He said that capital investments total €186 million, and the remaining part of investments has been made in social and charity projects of Orange Foundation.
Orange has created more than 1,000 jobs in Armenia for these 2.5 years.
Orange Armenia, fully owned by France Telecom (traded as Orange), started operating in Armenia on November 5, 2009.
The company started its activity with 83-percent coverage, providing access to mobile telecommunication and Internet in 500 cities and villages. ($1= AMD 387.74).-0---
