In accordance with the world tendency of increasing Internet activity, Viva subscribers more and more often give preference to various messengers and applications, and in this respect the past holidays were not an exception.
What services were preferred by Viva subscribers on New Year holidays?

YEREVAN, February 10. /ARKA/. In accordance with the world tendency of increasing Internet activity, Viva subscribers more and more often give preference to various messengers and applications, and in this respect the past holidays were not an exception. 

At the same time many Viva subscribers still continue to communicate by voice, to call their relatives, friends and colleagues, especially during New Year holidays. In comparison with the last year the number of calls this year remained practically unchanged. 

Below are the data on the volume of calls made and Internet traffic consumed on December 31, 2024 (before midnight) and January 1, 2025, indicators of the same period last year, as well as subscribers' preferences and the main trends in the use of mobile services. 

Messengers by traffic consumption indicators: 

Internet traffic growth amounted to almost 25% due to the use of messengers. 

The most popular messengers in terms of internet consumption are as follows: 

1. WhatsApp usage on New Year's Eve increased by 43% compared to last year,

2. Viber lost its leading position from last year,

3. Messenger continues to hold the third place,

4. Snapchat showed a record traffic growth of 74%,

5. Telegram's user base increased by 20%. 

The last two applications - Snapchat and Telegram - are still lagging behind the top three in terms of consumption, but are showing high growth rates in the number of users and the amount of traffic consumed. 

The most used social networks during the holidays 

During the New Year holidays Viva subscribers actively shared moments, congratulations and vivid memories in social networks. The leading apps were:

1. Instagram - photos and stories of family dinners and New Year's travels on users' pages;

2. TikTok - Challenges, dances and funny videos became an integral part of the New Year mood;

3. Facebook - traditional congratulations, summarizing the results of the year and warm posts about achievements and plans.  

Social networks continue to be an important part of communication, uniting Viva subscribers regardless of distance. 

What applications were used by Viva subscribers for viewing digital content during holidays?

New Year's Eve is a great time to watch movies and TV series. This year we also see a change in subscribers' preferences in the most used applications offering subscription video content: 

1) Armenian “Kinodaran” has become a new favorite thanks to its original Armenian-language content;

2) “Kinopoisk” continues to be a serious competitor, offering a large number of movies, series and self-produced content. 

In addition, on New Year's Eve, the company's subscribers enjoyed content in “Ivi”, “Netflix” and “Apple TV+” applications. 

On December 31, 2024, as well as January 1, 2025, subscribers talked on Viva's network for about 70.8 million minutes. The company's network handled more than 43.1 million calls and more than 7.4 million short messages. In fact, the number of calls and short messages remained virtually unchanged.-0-
