YEREVAN, September 11. /ARKA/. The Tour of Armenia, an international professional multi-day cycling race, is being held in Armenia for the first time. Sixteen professional teams from around the world are participating in the race. Team Telecom Armenia is the technology partner of the race, according to the company's press service.
The international tournament consists of four stages, during which approximately 300 participants will cover a total of 568 km with a total ascent of approximately 5,300 meters. The routes pass through various regions and roads of Armenia, and the final stage of the competition will be held in Yerevan.
The Tour of Armenia is a significant event in Armenia's sporting life, as the country is hosting professional cycling competitions at an international level for the first time. It also provides a new platform for the development of Armenian cycling, the expansion of the international experience of local athletes, and the promotion of Armenia as a sporting destination.
