Team Telecom Armenia to Provide Communications and Internet Infrastructure for Firebird AI Megaproject
YEREVAN, June 10. /ARKA/. Team Telecom Armenia will provide the communications and internet infrastructure for the Firebird AI megaproject via a next-generation fiber optic backbone network, the company's press service announced.
The Firebird data center, which has already entered the final stages of construction and equipment deployment, will become the largest AI data center in the region. The efficient and uninterrupted operation of infrastructures of this scale is unimaginable without highly reliable, high-bandwidth communications systems.
"As a result of consistent investments over many years, Team Telecom Armenia has become a unique communications hub in the region. Today, we have diversified communication channels from Armenia to four destinations, which fully complies with international data center construction standards. Team's infrastructure is becoming the digital backbone of the megaproject, connecting the AI factory being launched in Armenia with the global digital ecosystem and ensuring fast, secure, and uninterrupted data transfer," noted Aram Barseghyan, Deputy CEO of Team Telecom Armenia, during the first tour of the AI center.
Team Telecom Armenia provides the project with a network capacity of up to 1 terabit per second, with significant room for further expansion as demand grows. The company's next-generation fiber-optic network can handle the most demanding AI and high-performance computing infrastructures, ensuring ultra-fast data transfer and highly reliable international communication channels.
Team Group companies -Team Construct, Team Systems, and Team Energy are also involved in the construction of the AI megacenter.
In the first phase of Firebird, the data center will be powered by over 6,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, delivering up to 110.6 exaflops of AI computing power. Subsequent expansion phases anticipate multiple growth in infrastructure, for which the availability of an appropriate telecommunications environment is also crucial.
