YEREVAN, July 23. /ARKA/. An educational hub for green technologies is planned for the Shirak region of Armenia.
To this end, at a meeting on Thursday, the government approved the direct sale of a 0.52-hectare plot of land located in the village of Marmashen in the Akhuryan community to the Gyumri Information Technology Center Scientific and Educational Foundation.
The investment in the project will amount to approximately 100 million drams, announced David Khudatyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
"The project is scheduled to run until December 31, 2028. Its implementation is conditioned by the educational center's logistical support program, which includes the development of educational infrastructure," Khudatyan said.
According to him, the foundation intends to implement a charitable program in this area, which includes the creation of a green technology hub that will serve as an educational center.
Furthermore, plans are in place to build six technologically advanced residential modules and equip the facility with modern equipment and tools, including drones.
According to the minister, women and youth from Akhuryan and neighboring communities, primarily from rural areas, will be able to participate free of charge in the foundation's IT programs, including the development of technological products.
The project is expected to result in the creation of five startup companies.
