YEREVAN, July 29. /ARKA/. The Firebird AI Center is preparing to launch in the Armenian city of Hrazdan, which is planned to house 6,144 NVIDIA Blackwell-generation GPUs.
According to the Armenian Ministry of High-Tech Industry, the investment in the center during the first phase is $500 million. After the completion of the second phase, the total investment could reach approximately $5 billion, and the number of additional GPUs commissioned could reach approximately 42,000.
Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan inspected the work completed yesterday. He was accompanied by Firebird AI co-founder Alexander Yesayan.
The Minister was presented with the current status of the center, its technological infrastructure, and high-performance computing systems. He also inspected the facility's preparations for operation and the final technical work before its opening.
During the visit, the parties discussed the next stages of the project's development.
Ayrapetyan noted that the project has the potential to create new opportunities for the scientific research community, startups, high-tech companies, and the public sector.
About the AI Data Center Project
In June 2025, the Armenian government, NVIDIA, Firebird, and Team Group announced the launch of a project to create a supercomputer and data center based on artificial intelligence solutions.
Firebird owns the data center, which has an infrastructure capacity of over 100 MW. Dell is the project partner, and NVIDIA is supplying high-performance Blackwell GPUs.
The new AI center will enable the development of artificial intelligence, bioscience, robotics, and space exploration technologies. The project is being implemented with the support of the Armenian and US governments and is scheduled to launch in 2026.
