 State funding for Armenia's IT sector exceeds $120 million in 2025

YEREVAN, October 31. /ARKA/. The draft state budget of Armenia for 2025 allocates 47.5 billion drams (approximately $122 million) to the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, according to the head of the department, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.

Speaking at parliamentary discussions on the 2025 state budget, Hayrapetyan stated that the funds will be used to implement five budget programs featuring 20 initiatives.

He noted that 32.8 billion drams are planned for the development of the high-tech sector in 2025, aimed at enhancing industry infrastructure.

Key initiatives include retraining personnel through university-private sector cooperation (413 million drams), market development and international cooperation (344.9 million drams), and creating a technological business ecosystem (344.9 million drams).

Additionally, approximately 29.4 billion drams will support commercial organizations and individual entrepreneurs in the IT sector through tax incentives.

The budget allocates 1.1 billion drams for the completion and equipping of the engineering business accelerator building, and about 36 million drams will cover electricity costs for the supercomputer in Engineering City.

Funding of 548 million drams is earmarked for telecommunications programs, with another 4.5 billion drams dedicated to a radio monitoring program aimed at addressing electromagnetic compatibility and radio frequency interference issues affecting local and international radio electronic equipment.

Furthermore, the program for establishing a unified digital environment in 2025 includes state funding of 7.135 billion drams, which will support two initiatives: "Development of State Policy for Implementing and Enhancing an Information Security System and Electronic Control System" (costing 1.01 billion drams) and "Formation of a Unified Digital Environment" (5 billion drams).
