YEREVAN, May 12. /ARKA/. YouTube is expanding economic opportunities for the growing community of content creators in Armenia, said Leslie Miller, YouTube's Vice President of Government Relations and Public Policy.

YouTube officially announced the launch of the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) in Armenia on May 11, which will allow content creators operating in the country to take advantage of the platform's monetization tools.

"YouTube provides a platform for a wide range of voices—from independent media to artists and entrepreneurs. We are committed to supporting freedom of speech and creating new economic opportunities for the growing community of content creators in Armenia," the press service of the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry quoted Miller as saying.

She expressed hope that the launch of the YPP will further expand opportunities for content creators in Armenia.

In turn, U.S. Chargé d'Affaires in Armenia David Allen stated that the expansion of the YouTube Partner Program in Armenia is part of a broader agenda of U.S.-Armenia technology cooperation, including the previously signed memorandum of understanding in artificial intelligence and semiconductor innovation.

According to him, the program will enable individual creators and entrepreneurs to develop their work, make their creative voices heard, create new economic opportunities, and create jobs.

According to the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry, the YPP program allows creators, artists, and media outlets to generate revenue from content posted on the video platform.

Armenian content creators who meet the company's criteria can apply for the program: at least 1,000 subscribers, 4,000 hours of watch time for main videos in the last 365 days, or 10 million views of Shorts videos in the last 90 days.
