French TV5 Channel available to subscribers of Rostelecom in Armenia

French TV5 channel is now available to all Rostelecom subscribers in Armenia, Hayk Faramazyan, CEO of GNC Alfa telecom operator (trading as Rostelecom in Armenia) said during a meeting with France’s ambassador to Armenia Jonathan Lacote.

YEREVAN, March 5. /ARKA/. French TV5 channel is now available to all Rostelecom subscribers in Armenia, Hayk Faramazyan, CEO of GNC Alfa telecom operator (trading as Rostelecom in Armenia) said during a meeting with France’s ambassador to Armenia Jonathan Lacote.

Faramazyan was quoted as saying in a company’s press release that Rostelecom in Armenia attaches great importance to the holding of the forum of Francophonie in Armenia later this year.

"We express our assistance by having included French language television channels in our broadcasting network," Faramazyan said.
TV5 has been available to Rostelecom subscribers in Armenia since 2017. Earlier another French TV channel- France-24 became available to the company’s subscribers in 2013.

Faramazyan said broadcasting of foreign-language TV channels by the company contributes to informing and raising the level of education of the population.
"Thanks to Smart TV, our subscribers have the opportunity to watch TV channels not only in Armenian, but also in eight languages: Russian, English, French, German, Polish, Arabic, Italian, Turkish," Faramazyan said.

Rostelecom’s Smart TV offers subscribers  parental control (to restrict TV channels, films or put an age limit), the use of a multi-genre film library (Video on Demand), subscription to movie packages (SVOD), high-quality serials, to view previously shown programs (TV on Demand), to put the programs on pause during the broadcast (TSTV, Time-Shift TV). Also one can receive information about electronic programs that were broadcast or will be broadcast (EPG, Electronic Program Guide), read the news directly from the TV screen.

Users of Smart TV from Rostelecom are also able to use YouTube applications, listen to the radio, watch videos and photos from USB storage, and connect a USB keyboard or mouse.

In addition, customers can view content on other gadgets, including, Multiscreen views on phones or tablets with iOS, connect multiple TVs within the same package. Children's Rutube is also available. The service is provided jointly with Hybrid Solutions. --0---
