YEREVAN, May 14. /ARKA/. At a meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government approved a list of international standards applicable to cybersecurity.
"Following the adoption of the Law on Cybersecurity by the National Assembly at the end of last year, the need arose to adopt a number of related bylaws. International standards will be implemented in vital sectors and at critical infrastructure facilities," stated Gevorg Mantashyan, First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia.
According to him, specific requirements are also being established for cybersecurity service providers to ensure compliance with certain standards, as well as for auditors who inspect such systems.
The Deputy Minister noted that this measure will be an important contribution to ensuring cybersecurity.
"A transition period of 24 months has been established. Certification according to these standards must be submitted to the Information Systems Regulatory Commission by January 4, 2028." This measure carries certain risks for economic entities, but at the same time, it contributes to the formation of a unified security system,” Mantashyan said.
