French startup Mistral AI helps develop AI in Armenia

YEREVAN, February 11. /ARKA/. The Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia has signed a cooperation agreement with the French startup Mistral AI, which is known for its developments in the field of generative artificial intelligence.
The agreement was signed yesterday in Paris by Gevorg Mantashyan, Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, and Arthur Mensch, CEO of Mistral AI.
"This cooperation is a significant factor in forming a robust ecosystem that will attract talented specialists and use AI solutions to ensure more efficient and faster management," noted Mantashyan.
Meanwhile, Mensch emphasized that the artificial intelligence ecosystem in Armenia is flourishing. He highlighted that he is proud that his company can contribute to Armenia's public administration system, startups, and talents through its AI solutions.
The agreement aims to enhance Armenia's AI infrastructure, support AI-based business solutions, and improve public administration through the GovTech program by leveraging Mistral AI’s experience in commercial and open-source AI technologies.
The document is expected to position Armenia as a key player in the regional AI ecosystem, fostering innovation and technological progress. The agreement seeks to strengthen Armenia’s AI ecosystem through technical assistance and knowledge exchange, introduce an AI platform for innovation leaders to develop business solutions, and support the use of AI tools to improve governance and service delivery.
As part of the collaboration with Armenia's industrial sector, the Armenian government will provide infrastructure and regulatory support, while Mistral AI will apply its expertise in Armenia, implement training programs, and offer tailored AI solutions.
