YEREVAN, January 27. /ARKA/. Armenia’s government decided Thursday to hand the so-called e-health (electronic health record sharing system) over to a build-operate-transfer manager to be chosen though a tender.

The electronic health record (eHR) is a record in electronic format containing health-related data of an individual (not confined to medical treatment for illness), stored and retrieved by different healthcare providers including doctors and other healthcare professionals for healthcare-related purposes.)

Levon Altunyan, the Armenian health minister, said server infrastructures and the country's unified health system data software will be handed over. 

The e-health system will be introduced also in medical centers and licensed pharmacies. 

All the 480 licensed medical establishments of the country are planned to be registered in the system.  

The minister said that the system has been introduced in Armenia in cooperation with Ericsson, which gave it later to the government. 

«The system will increase transparency and the accuracy of registrations,» he said. «It will also relieve from the necessity of paperwork, since the data on all medical centers' patients will be kept in this unified electronic system.»

In his words, the tender in planned to be conducted as soon as possible, presumably before April 15. 

The project was launched in 2017 thanks to the joint efforts of the Armenian health ministry and the Central Bank of Armenia. --0---
