Armenia to launch trade-in for electronics

YEREVAN, January 14. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan announced plans to introduce a trade-in system for the resale of used gadgets, particularly phones and laptops.

“Discussions on this issue were held, including in the National Assembly. This is a common practice worldwide. It already exists in Armenia: people buy a phone, then after some time, they list it on an online marketplace and sell it. They add some extra money and buy a new one. However, this process should become more streamlined,” he said during a press conference.

According to him, the new system is expected to be introduced this year.
