YEREVAN, June 11. /ARКА/. The Cyber Police of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs has warned Instagram and WhatsApp users about possible fraudulent messages related to password changes.
The agency reminded that if a user has a personal Instagram account and also uses WhatsApp, then when attempting to change their Instagram password, Meta may also send a corresponding link to WhatsApp, depending on the user's settings.
Scammers may also send fake messages in an attempt to mislead users and gain access to their personal accounts.
The Cyber Police urges users not to click the link or enter their password or other login information if they receive a WhatsApp message from Instagram asking for a password change, but did not initiate the change.
"The security of your personal online accounts begins, first and foremost, with your vigilance," the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Cyber Police said in a statement.
