Armenia Leads the World in Women's Involvement in Tech Sector - Pashinyan

YEREVAN, April 23. /ARКА/. Armenia has the highest rates in the world in the technological sphere in terms of women's involvement, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"In no country are women as involved in the IT sector as in Armenia. Girls are also active in the field of education. On the one hand, this is encouraging, but on the other hand, this indicates that there are deep problems in the country, and I believe that we underestimate them, and a huge part of these problems is related to the influence of the criminal subculture in terms of how guys perceive our reality," Pashinyan said at a regular government meeting on Wednesday during a discussion of the strategy for implementing gender policy for 2025-2028. As previously stated by the Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, the turnover of the IT sector of Armenia in 2024 amounted to 915 billion drams, and taking into account some areas of high-tech production, it exceeded 1.15 trillion drams.
