YEREVAN, October 12. /ARKA/. The official opening of the country's first TUMO Center for Creative Technologies took place in the Georgian city of Kutaisi, according to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.

The center opened on October 8 within the Kutaisi technology hub, located in the former Georgian Parliament building.

According to the Georgian agency, approximately 1,550 teenagers aged 12 to 18 have registered for the center's programs, with 600 already having started classes. Instruction is free of charge.

The curriculum covers programming, robotics, game development, animation, graphic design, 3D modeling, filmmaking, music, and the fundamentals of generative artificial intelligence.

The project was implemented with the support of the Georgian Ministry of Economy, the Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA), and the Bank of Georgia.

The opening ceremony was attended by TUMO founder Marie Lou Papazian and TUMO Development Director Bekor Papazian, representatives of the Georgian authorities, and Armenia's Ambassador to Georgia, Ashot Smbatyan.

About TUMO

The TUMO Center for Creative Technologies (TUMO) was established in Armenia in 2011. The Simonyan Foundation is the founder, brand owner, and operator of the TUMO center network. Today, there are six TUMO centers and over 40 TUMO Boxes (mobile mini-centers) operating in Armenia, where more than 25,000 Armenian teenagers aged 12–18 study subjects—such as programming, music, robotics, animation, 3D modeling, filmmaking, photography, game development, graphic design, and drawing—using modern technology, all free of charge.

TUMO’s goal in Armenia is to establish a nationwide network comprising 14 centers and 80 TUMO Boxes.

Outside Armenia, TUMO centers operate in France, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, Albania, Belgium, the USA, Japan, Argentina, and Uruguay. By the end of 2027, TUMO plans to expand its international network to 30 centers across 15 countries, including Spain, Angola, Germany, and others.
