Ucom Assesses Environmental Impact of Its Operations
YEREVAN, October 8. /ARKA/. As part of its environmental initiatives, Ucom has calculated the volume of greenhouse gas emissions associated with its headquarters' operations. The resulting data serves as a baseline for future efforts to manage and reduce emissions.

The assessment utilized internationally recognized methodologies—specifically the GHG Protocol and the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard. The study analyzed key emission sources linked to headquarters operations, identifying areas where future measures could yield the greatest impact. The active participation of Ucom employees played a crucial role in this process, providing a more comprehensive understanding of certain indirect emissions associated with the company's activities.

"For Ucom, environmental responsibility is a key component of long-term development. It is important for us not only to implement specific initiatives but also to understand the impact of our operations so we can make more responsible decisions. This assessment is another tool that will allow us to make this work more consistent and measurable," said Ralph Yirikian, CEO of Ucom.

Based on the assessment results, Ucom has developed a roadmap extending to 2036. This plan outlines measures to improve energy efficiency, optimize building heating systems, and reduce emissions related to corporate transport and employee commuting, among other relevant areas.

The roadmap will be reviewed annually to evaluate progress, reassess priorities, and refine future steps as necessary. In subsequent stages, Ucom plans to gradually expand the scope of the assessment to include data centers, network infrastructure, and branch offices.
