YEREVAN, October 5. /ARKA/. Gevorg Mantashyan, Armenia’s Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence, discussed cooperation in digitalization and telecommunications with a delegation from the Swedish development finance institution Swedfund, led by Johan Boström Heiskala, Director of Project Accelerator.

The meeting aimed to explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation in digitalization, telecommunications, and other areas related to sustainable infrastructure projects in Armenia, the Ministry’s press service reported.

Mantashyan emphasized the importance of cooperation with international financial institutions and outlined the Ministry's current reforms and strategic directions, highlighting the role of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the country's sustainable development.

Heiskala, in turn, presented Swedfund’s core mission and the activities of Project Accelerator, which focuses on facilitating the implementation of sustainable infrastructure projects.

He noted Swedfund’s interest in Armenia’s rapidly developing ecosystem and its readiness to explore cooperation opportunities in technology, telecommunications, and secure, reliable digital communications.

During the meeting, the parties discussed support mechanisms for startups and the role of innovation in driving sustainable economic growth; the "AI Factory Garden" concept, designed to position Armenia as a regional technology hub; and strategic energy projects essential for the uninterrupted and sustainable operation of high-tech infrastructure.
