Armenia and Germany agree to expand technological cooperation

YEREVAN, January 30. /ARKA/. Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan discussed with the German Ambassador to Armenia, Claudia Busch, the possibilities for technological cooperation between the two countries.

According to the ministry's press service, Hayrapetyan provided a detailed overview of the department’s strategic priorities, which cover a wide range of areas – from high technologies to digitalization, from space technologies to cybersecurity. He also touched upon the new 7-year program for the development of the technology sector and other initiatives.

The two parties outlined several promising areas of cooperation and specifically emphasized the importance of attracting large German and European multinational IT companies to Armenia, as well as collaboration in biotechnology, semiconductor design and production, and microelectronics.

Busch highlighted the ongoing joint work with Armenia in the field of digitalization and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation in areas that foster the development of skills, startups, the technology industry, and other related sectors.

Agreements were reached on expanding collaboration, along with further steps and plans.
