YEREVAN, October 19. /ARKA/. Free courses on artificial intelligence, digital literacy, and cybersecurity are set to be held in Yerevan and across all regions of Armenia as part of the "Mass Training" program.

The program is being implemented by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the NEST (National Ecosystem for Skills and Technology) initiative.

According to official information from the Ministry, the program is designed for over 1,300 participants and aims to promote modern digital skills among various segments of the population, including those living in the regions. The program is scheduled to conclude on November 30, 2026.

Meeting with program participants in Dilijan

Armenia’s Minister of High-Tech Industry, David Tadevosyan, and Tigran Chorokhyan, Head of the Innovation and SDG Finance Portfolio at the UNDP, met with program participants in Dilijan.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the application of new technologies and the development of digital competencies. Tadevosyan emphasized the need to ensure that technological education is accessible to young people, regardless of where they live.

The UNDP representative highlighted the importance of skills related to artificial intelligence, an entrepreneurial mindset, and collaboration for the implementation of new projects.

About the program: How to use AI

The training includes not only an introduction to artificial intelligence technologies but also practical sessions involving the use of relevant AI tools. In particular, participants learn the principles of crafting prompts for neural networks (AI prompting), which determine the content and quality of the responses generated.

Furthermore, the program covers tools for generating images and video content using AI, as well as digital literacy, the fundamentals of cybersecurity, and the development of versatile skills essential for working with modern technologies.

Who is eligible for the free training?

According to the official program description, the primary target groups are:
high school students aged 15–17;
young adults aged 18–29;
women aged 30–40;
recipients of social or family benefits;
displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh.

The program consists of two training modules, tailored to the age and needs of the participants. The first is designed for high school students and young adults, while the second is aimed at middle-aged women, displaced persons, and recipients of social benefits.

The training is free of charge for participants. The program is jointly funded by the ministry and the UNDP.

What is the NEST program?

NEST is a UNDP initiative that implements projects in Armenia focused on developing technological competencies and professional skills.

The "Mass Training" program is one of its educational tracks.

As noted in the ministry’s materials, the program’s objective is to create and test mechanisms for the large-scale teaching of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and essential professional skills.

Special emphasis is placed on population groups for whom acquiring new knowledge can expand opportunities for employment and professional development. Several educational and technological organizations are involved in the implementation of the program, including the American University of Armenia, the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST), the Enterprise Incubator Foundation, the Technology Education Foundation, and other partners.
