Care for Nature with Team: Company Launches Environmental Campaign in Conjunction with COP17

YEREVAN, October 19. /ARKA/. Team Telecom Armenia, a technology partner of COP17, is launching an environmental campaign on October 19 under the slogan "Care in Action," aimed at making environmental stewardship an everyday habit. As part of this initiative, the company is introducing three distinct offers, according to Team’s press service.

From October 19 to November 19, individuals can drop off their old mobile phones whether functional or broken at any Team Telecom Armenia sales and service center. In exchange, they will receive a 5% discount on the purchase of an Apple, Xiaomi, or Honor smartphone. This initiative seeks to foster a culture of responsible consumption, ensuring that old devices do not end up in the trash.

Simultaneously, in collaboration with the Armenia Tree Project, Team has launched a reforestation effort. Subscribers who sign up for any of Team’s "COSMO" or "COMBO" service packages during this period will contribute to this environmental cause; for every new subscription, Team will plant one tree.

"Our partnership with COP17 goes beyond technology; we firmly believe that technological progress and sustainable development must advance hand in hand. That is why, in the context of the conference, we are launching environmental initiatives that engage both our partners and our subscribers. Our goal is to foster the understanding that the daily choices we make can have a positive impact on the environment and to translate that awareness into concrete action," says Aram Barseghyan, CEO of Team Telecom Armenia.

"At the Armenia Tree Project, we have spent over 30 years guided by the conviction that caring for nature must be expressed through tangible actions." "Having planted over 10 million trees in various communities across Armenia, we know that every single tree entails a long-term responsibility from nurturing saplings to cultivating thriving, sustainable forests. We are delighted that, through our partnership with Team Telecom Armenia, we can engage thousands of people in building a greener future for Armenia. COP17 serves as a significant platform to demonstrate that biodiversity conservation is not the sole responsibility of environmental organizations; businesses and individual citizens alike can drive real change. This initiative is a prime example of collaboration, where everyday choices evolve into a long-term investment in nature," says Anthony Barsamian, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Armenia Tree Project.

Starting October 19, a new service called "EcoLink" will be available to corporate clients. Companies that sign up for this service will receive a 10% discount when charging their corporate electric vehicle fleets at Team Energy charging stations.

"It is especially meaningful for us to embark on this journey together alongside our subscribers, corporate clients, and partners because environmental responsibility is a shared culture, shaped by the choices and actions of each one of us. We are proud to be building this future in collaboration with our clients and partners," notes Tigran Frangyan, Commercial Director of Team Telecom Armenia.

Through its "Care in Action" initiative, and in the context of COP17, Team Telecom Armenia encourages practical steps toward environmental protection, aiming with the support of its partners and clients to make ecological responsibility an integral part of daily life.

Team places great importance on ensuring that the principles of sustainable development are reflected in its day-to-day operations and business decisions. The company is increasing its use of renewable energy, developing its own solar power generation capacity, taking steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, expanding its fleet of electric vehicles, implementing paper-saving and digitalization solutions, and developing the "Team Energy" network of electric vehicle charging stations throughout Armenia.

The company’s greenhouse gas emission targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and Team has become the first telecommunications company in Armenia to issue sustainability-linked bonds, committing itself to concrete actions to reduce the environmental impact of its operations.

Team Telecom Armenia has also successfully passed an audit of its environmental management system, meeting the ISO 14001:2015 standard, and has received the corresponding certification a milestone that strengthens the company’s systematic approach to environmental protection.
