Venture capital is very active in Armenia - Head of Dimension Investments

YEREVAN, February 19. /ARKA/. Venture capital in Armenia is very active, Armen Hovhannisyan, head of investment banking at Dimension Investments, said in an exclusive interview with ARKA news agency.

“As regards venture capital in Armenia there is quite good activity now. If we compare it with neighboring countries or post-Soviet states, we have quite an active venture capital market with its participants,” he said in an interview with ARKA news agency.

At the same time, Hovhannisyan noted that at different stages of financing there is a need for strengthening, not in terms of amounts, but deals, to establish cooperation with companies.

When asked how technological trends, in particular, blockchain or AI affect the activities of investment companies, the expert said that at this stage their application is possible only at the stage of analysis.

“Perhaps something is at the development stage, and in the near future at some stage of investment activity some processes will be replaced by AI and blockchain. But right now, I don't see much of application other than analytical,” Hovhannisyan added. -0-
