TUMO-box to open in the town of Goris in southern Armenia

YEREVAN, March 11. /ARKA/. A TUMO-box, a mobile mini-laboratory of the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, will soon open in the town of Goris in Armenia's Syunik region.
“Students from Goris and nearby communities will be able to master the self-study program on site, and will travel to TUMO-Kapan by special transport to participate in courses and seminars,” TUMO said in a Facebook post.
In order to finalize the TUMO educational network in Syunik region, it is planned to activate one more center and several boxes in the Sisian community.
About TUMO Center
The TUMO Center for Creative Technologies (TUMO) was opened in Armenia in 2011. Today about 25 thousand Armenian teenagers 12-18 years old are trained free of charge to work in IT using modern technologies (programming, music, robotics, animation, 3D modeling, film production, photography, game development, graphic design and drawing).
The TUMO centers operate not only in Armenia (in Yerevan, Dilijan, Gyumri, Yeghegnadzor, Kapan and Koghb), but also in Germany, France, Lebanon, Portugal, Switzerland, Albania and Ukraine. There are plans to deploy TUMO centers in Los Angeles, Amsterdam, and Tokyo.
In 2016, TUMO was on the first place in the rating of innovative schools in the world, compiled by the French magazine “We demain”.-0-
