Only 13 per cent of trips in the capital's metro are paid through a mobile app
YEREVAN, 9 September. /ARKA/. Over the last 2 weeks only about 13% of trips in Yerevan Metro were paid through the unified ticket system (via mobile application), in buses this figure is even lower - 2.1%.
About 575,500 passengers used the underground, of whom 74,882 paid through TelCell Wallet, and the rest - with tokens,’ said acting director of Yerevan Metro Babken Sedrakyan at a working meeting in the City Hall on Monday.
In his turn, ‘Yerevan Bus’ CJSC Director Beglar Kirakosyan said that out of more than 3.5 million bus journeys, 75,122 were paid via TelCell Wallet.
These figures have displeased Mayor Tigran Avinian. This is a very insignificant percentage,’ he said.
The pilot project to introduce a unified ticketing system for public transport has been implemented since September 2023. Terminals for ticket payment with the help of QR code are installed in the metro, buses and trolleybuses. The full launch of the unified ticketing system is planned from 1 January 2024.-0-
