YEREVAN, February 4. /ARKA/. Information security expert Samvel Martirosyan has warned about targeted attempts to hack accounts on the “Signal” and “WhatsApp” messaging platforms.

“Currently, an unknown hacker group is attempting to distribute various links through the “Signal” messenger. People are receiving invitations, including from alleged government agencies, to join a specially created group,” Martirosyan stated on his Facebook page.

According to him, the links are most commonly sent to individuals who are, to some extent, privy to state secrets.

“They are trying to steal “Signal” accounts and “WhatsApp” registration codes,” Martirosyan added, urging people not to accept invitations from unknown sources and to enable two-factor authentication everywhere.
