YEREVAN, April 15. /ARKA/. Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan met with Benjamin Haddad, Minister Delegate for European Affairs to the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
According to the press service of the Armenian ministry, during the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the historically friendly relations between Armenia and France and the high level of political dialogue, viewing these as a solid foundation for the implementation of new initiatives in the technological and economic spheres.
Hayrapetyan presented the potential of Armenia's human capital, emphasizing that the combination of Armenian and French professional competencies, particularly in the semiconductor industry and scientific research and development (R&D), can create broad opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation and facilitate the creation of high-value-added products for the global market.
He noted the importance of the current state policy aimed at positioning Armenia as an attractive platform for leading European, particularly French, technology companies. In this context, the minister emphasized the improvement of the favorable business environment and the implementation of steps that will encourage large technology companies to enter the Armenian market, allowing for the full utilization of the country's engineering, scientific, and technical potential.
The issue of Armenia's potential to serve as a research platform for French companies in the design, development, and testing stages was also discussed.
The parties noted that the involvement of French technology companies is crucial for Armenia's economic development, enhancing sustainability, diversifying the economy, and advancing the European integration process.
During the meeting, the importance of high-level reciprocal visits was also discussed, as well as the possibilities for expanding Armenian-French cooperation in high technology, particularly in artificial intelligence, the semiconductor industry, and cybersecurity. In this context, existing cooperation formats, ongoing programs with Mistral AI and other companies, and their development prospects were discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed the importance of forming a strategic partnership, emphasizing the need for active dialogue and the effective implementation of joint initiatives.
