Armenia to build AI-Data Center with $500 million investment: Minister on the largest technological project in the region

YEREVAN, June 11. /ARKA/. An AI-Data Center will be built in Armenia, in which $500 million will be invested, said Armenian High-Tech Industry Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.
"Armenia is joining the global artificial intelligence movement not as an observer, but as a creator of new opportunities. After months of preparatory work, the Armenian government, together with Firebird and NVIDIA, are launching a joint project that will radically change the technological map of our region," Hayrapetyan wrote on social networks.
According to him, within the framework of this largest technological project in the region, the launch of which is scheduled for 2026, thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs will be deployed and an infrastructure with a capacity of over 100 MW will be created.
Hayrapetyan noted that the Center will become a platform for innovation, education, science and entrepreneurship, stimulating the development of local and international startups, ensuring the connection of science and technology, turning Armenia into a regional technohub, a real place for the creation of AI. "With this initiative, Armenia not only responds to global technological changes, but also becomes a participant in these processes. A new platform is being formed, where local potential will have the opportunity to create modern solutions in accordance with international developments. This is a strategic investment for the long-term technological progress of our country," the minister concluded.
