Armenia plans to create computing power for AI based on 100,000 GPUs
YEREVAN, August 20. /ARKA/. Armenia is set to establish computing power that matches at least 100,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) for cutting-edge AI systems, which translates to a minimum of 35,000 GPUs for every million residents.
This information is outlined in the Armenian government's program for 2026-2031, which received approval during a meeting on Thursday.
Additionally, Armenia's scientific research, education, industrial sectors, and startups will gain access to computing resources that represent at least 10% of this total capacity.
The government's initiative also aims to enhance Armenia's national space capabilities by acquiring and operating at least two Earth remote sensing satellites and one telecommunications satellite.
This includes developing national ground infrastructure, establishing capabilities for satellite management and data processing, and ensuring that state, scientific, and private entities can access satellite data and communication services.-0-
