Armenia and UAE agree to cooperate in space industry

YEREVAN, February 18. /ARKA/. Prospects of cooperation between Armenia and the UAE in the space industry were discussed by the Armenian Minister of High Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan and UAE Space Agency Director General Salem Al Qubaisi at a meeting held on the margins of IDEX-2025 exhibition.
The sides agreed to implement joint programs aimed at developing space technologies and promoting scientific and technological progress for the benefit of both states, the ministry's press service reported.
Hayrapetyan presented Armenia's vision on the development of the space industry, as well as the steps taken in this direction. In his turn, Al Qubaisi spoke about the process of creation and development of the UAE Space Agency, pointing out the planned major projects.
The sides stressed the importance of possible cooperation in the field of scientific research and experimental developments, industry start-ups, as well as cooperation in accordance with the principles of the “Artemis Agreement”, aimed at peaceful use of space and development of innovative solutions to global problems facing the mankind.
The Armenian delegation is taking part in the largest exhibition of armament and military equipment IDEX-2025, which is being held in Abu Dhabi from February 17-21.
