YEREVAN, June 4. /ARKA/. A laboratory data analysis system based on artificial intelligence has been introduced in the healthcare sector in Armenia for the first time.

The assistant program was developed by the domestic startup Docus in collaboration with the Blood Cells laboratory network - through it, people can monitor their health, receive laboratory test results and personal recommendations.

As RA Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan noted at a press conference on Wednesday, timed to coincide with the presentation of the system, the process of collecting medical data in Armenia is at a significant stage of development.

"We pay special attention to data security and medical confidentiality. We also see the need for legislative changes regarding the analysis, storage and management of medical data. Today, the whole world is looking for ethical and legal solutions to regulate the use of AI, and Armenia, following these trends, will not remain on the sidelines," Armenpress quotes Avanesyan as saying.

Co-founder and director of the Armenian startup Docus Robert Sargsyan, for his part, emphasized that the new system will allow citizens to receive simple and understandable explanations of the results of their medical examinations.

"With the help of the platform, it will be possible to track the dynamics of health indicators and, if necessary, contact the appropriate doctor. The AI-based reminder system will become a kind of "bridge" between the doctor and the patient, and will also help in more accurate diagnosis and the development of the most optimal treatment strategy. We believe that this will contribute to the development of preventive medicine," Sargsyan noted.

Founder and director of the Blood Cells laboratory network Arman Hovhannisyan, in turn, emphasized the need to create a product that complies with the principles of evidence-based medicine and modern solutions. "Mistakes are not forgiven in medicine. Thanks to the enormous amount of work that has been done, a product has appeared that essentially analyzes medical data almost without errors," Hovhannisyan emphasized.

The system developed by the Docus startup is aimed at stimulating technological and scientific progress in the healthcare sector, increasing the efficiency of communication between doctors and patients, and creating a culture of early disease prevention. The company plans to implement the system in all medical institutions in Armenia.
