YEREVAN, March 6. /ARKA/. The number of various investment, “romantic” frauds has significantly increased in Armenia,” Head of the Business Behavior Control Department of the Central Bank Artur Davtyan said at a press conference.

Also, according to him, the number of phishing fraud cases increased - when migrants from Russia and Ukraine came to Armenia and “brought” a new wave with them. At the same time, he did not give exact data on the number of recorded crimes of this nature.

In turn, analyst of the Department of Operational and IT Risks of the Central Bank Vladimir Karyan noted that risks are constantly monitored.

“Although we call such cases cybercrimes, but most of them are cases of fraud using social engineering. Over the past 3 years, we have not had any cases when the target of cyberattacks were banks aiming to steal amounts or personal data,” he said.
