ARCA system was used in July 2012 to implement 87,163 internet payments
YEREVAN, August 21. /ARKA/. The Armenian Card (ArCA) payment system was used in July 2012 to implement 87,163 Internet payments, including utility payments, almost twice as many as a year ago, the company said in a press release.
It said the amount of transactions exceeded 501 million drams, by 136 percent more from the same month a year before. It also said ATMs were used to make 20,875 cashless transactions worth about 20 million drams, by 38% percent more from a year earlier. In the past month some 8000 card-to-card transactions were made worth 625 million drams, a 61 percent rise over the same time span last year.
Armenian Card CJSC was established on March 16, 2000 as a united national payment system. Today 19 of Armenia’s 21 commercial banks participate in ArCa payment system. The company is a full member of MasterCard Europe international payment system. It also processes VISA and American Express (Third Party Processor) cards. ($1 – 410,97 drams). -0-
