Seminar in Tsakhkadzor focused on mobile apps

YEREVAN, January 20. / ARKA /. ArmenTel telecom (trading as Beeline) and the Center for Technology Development held the past weekend a workshop on Mobile Developer Day for leading mobile application developers, journalists and business representatives to identify ways to boost local mobile content market.
Speaking at the gathering ArmenTel CEO, Andrey Pyatakhin, said ArmenTel, like many other telecom operators does not see grow and ‘this is why telecom operators need to look for new and innovative solutions, including mobile applications.”
By the end of 2013, smartphone sales exceeded sales of ordinary phones. According to Microsoft Armenia, Armenian developers created about one thousands mobile applications in the last 12 months, of which some 200 were developed by graduates of the Microsoft’s Innovation Center. However, these applications were created largely for foreign users.
Head of the Center for Technology Development Samvel Chakhalyan said it is necessary to determine what local users need. The seminar participants agreed that in this case it is necessary to take into account the mentality and the needs of Armenian users.
The seminar was attended by representatives of ArmenTel, Microsoft, mLab, Zoom Graphics, Helix Consulting, Fluger, Dinamica, Simply Technologies, OMG Studio. -0-
