Ucom to buy beeline Armenia
YEREVAN, January 8, /ARKA/. Veon telecommunications company, the owner of Veon Armenia (trading as Beeline in Armenia), one of Armenia’s three mobile phone networks, has asked for the permission of Armenia's Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) to sell it to another Armenian telecom operator Ucom, a PSRC spokeswoman Liana Azizyan told ARKA news agency.
She said the application had been submitted to PSRC on December 27, 2019 and, according to the procedure, should be considered and approved by all competent authorities.
According to Azizyan, the application's consideration process will begin after the New Year holidays.
The Amsterdam-based VEON, which was formerly headquartered in Moscow, Russia and known as VimpelCom, had paid $376 million to buy its Armenian networks from the Greek OTE company in 2006.
Veon Armenia CJSC provides fixed and mobile communication services. Ucom (Universal Communications) was founded in 2007. It provides a full range of services : high-speed symmetric Internet, IP-television, digital telephony. - 0--
