Putin: relocation of Russian IT engineers to Armenia not a problem

YEREVAN, May 26. /ARKA/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said relocation of thousands of IT engineers to Armenia (after the launch of the so-called 'special operation' against Ukraine) was not a problem, TASS reported.

Speaking at the first Eurasian Economic Forum, the Russian president spoke about how he discussed with his colleagues from Kazakhstan and Armenia the development of high technologies, but not for the reason that "some IT specialists [from Russia] moved to Armenia."

"Well, they moved, and thank God, let them work," Putin noted. At the same time, he believes that such a situation is "to some extent a challenge" for Russia.

"We have to create better conditions," explained Putin.

According to Hayk Chobanyan, the executive director of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE),  some 70,000 people have relocated to Armenia because of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and 1,300 new companies were registered in Armenia, of which more than 90% are IT companies. -0-
