New Nvidia-based supercomputer coming to Armenia in mid-2025

YEREVAN, January 10. /ARKA/. Armenia has purchased components from the American company Nvidia to launch the country’s second supercomputer, according to Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, Minister of High-Tech Industry, speaking at a final press conference.
"The Armenian government is promoting the creation of supercomputers based on various GPUs. We have made a significant purchase from Nvidia. By mid-year, we will have another supercomputer, in addition to the one donated by the Aznavour Center. We encourage the generation of new technological ideas, with scientific solutions that should primarily serve the development of the country's economy," he said.
The minister also mentioned that there is a preliminary agreement for the new supercomputer to be housed at Yerevan State University. The ministry has already received several applications for its use.
