Conference on Astronomical Heritage of the Near East Set to Take Place in Armenia

YEREVAN, April 23. /ARKA/.The Armenian capital will host the international conference titled "Astronomical Heritage of the Near East - 2."
To ensure this significant event runs smoothly, the Armenian government has allocated $20,000 to the Byurakan Observatory, as confirmed during a Сфиштуе meeting (the specific date of the conference remains undisclosed).
"This funding will enable us to organize another vital international scientific conference featuring a range of presentations and discussions. It will also aid in exploring the astronomical heritage both in Armenia and globally, while strengthening our scientific partnerships with foreign entities focused on cultural heritage preservation," the justification for the decision noted.
Additionally, it was mentioned that the Byurakan Observatory has submitted a grant application to UNESCO for the Participation Programme for the 2024-2025 stage, and the funds have already been deposited into the treasury account of the Armenian Ministry of Finance.-0-
