Winners of grant competition under the Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Program in Armenia announced

YEREVAN, November 28. /ARKA/. The names of the five winners of a grant competition under the Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Program (STEP) are announced Wednesday in Yerevan within a two-day venture conference “From Idea to Market.”
Nearly 20 programs were presented at the conference, five of them received $15,000 each.
The winners are the projects of Artak Ghambaryan “A device for heat recovery ventilation for use in the Armenian conditions,” “Development of a model of transparent carbon coatings with electric heating” of Joseph Panosyan, “MicroForester” of Alexander Shakaryan, “Н20 Cleaning” of Narek Hayrapetyan, and “Water charged by solar energy from air generators” of Gagik Martoyan.
Director of Enterprises Incubator Foundation (EIF) Bagrat Yengibaryan said some two companies had already showed their interest in implementing these projects.
The program has been implemented by the Enterprises Incubator Foundation together with the US Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF Global) and Armenian Ministry of Economy since 2006.
The aim of the STEP is to help Armenian specialists to introduce new products, create new enterprises and to successfully cooperate with other companies. Grants are given, seminars and business courses are held, legal and accounting consultancy is provided under the STEP.
This year, the STEP From Idea to Market annual competition started in May. More than 50 participating projects on IT, engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, and etc. were evaluated by American and Armenian specialists. —0-
