YEREVAN, January 27. /ARKA/. The Yerevan City Hall now has a system for processing data received from GPS devices installed in 550 city buses, announced the Acting Head of the Yerevan City Hall Transport Department, Vazgen Harutyunyan.
"The system is already up and running on our server. Currently, data from about 550 buses is available, which helps us monitor their movement and routes," Harutyunyan said during a working meeting at City Hall on Monday.
He added that work is ongoing to implement analytical tools that will allow for better monitoring and management of bus movements.
"The data from this system is already being sent to the Yandex Maps application, and a video surveillance system in the buses is also available in real-time," Harutyunyan said.
Yerevan Vice Mayor Suren Grigoryan also mentioned that the Yandex Maps application plans to include not only buses but also trolleybuses.
Earlier, the City Hall had announced that all city buses would be equipped with GPS satellite navigation systems.
